From the 18 of June to the 7 of September 2008 the National Gallery in London will host an exhibition about the Italy's Divisionist Painters, Morbelli, Previati, Russolo, Longoni and Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo. Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo was born in Volpedo, a village on the Oltrepo Pavese border side, in 1868 into a family of small landowners and wine maker. Having completed his academic studies at some of the most important Italian academies of his time (the Brera in Milan, the San Luca Academy and the French Academy in Rome, the school run by Macchiaiolo painter Giovanni Fattori in Florence, the Carrara in Bergamo, and the Ligustica in Genoa), he decided to move permanently back to Volpedo to live and work.
